At least 15 new bus lanes and dozens of signal priority schemes for buses would be installed on some of the city’s busiest routes under the plans.
Dedicated bus lanes and signals that give priority to buses on busy routes, including Dundas Street, Ferry Road and Inverleith Row, would cost nearly £60m under the plans.

Bruce Young, Lothian co-ordinator for the Association of British Drivers, commented: “The obvious intention is to squeeze drivers off the road and it is not fair.”
