Paypal – Not always instant payment…

I had always assumed Paypal offered imediate payment. Every time I have paid something via Paypal it has been instant. Well it would appear I was wrong.

Paypal offer something called echeques – rather than them taking the money out of your paypal account or charging your credit card, they take the money out of your bank acount via a Direct Debit arrangement. Sound good if your sending money, but not if your receiving it.

If your receiving payment Paypal say the moneys on it’s way, but it can take up to 9 days to clear and hit your account. Paypal say you shouldn’t ship untill you receive final confirmation from them.

If I’d wanted to wait nearly 2 weeks for payment I could just accept cheques or postal orders!
